Welcome to Vol. 4 Number 05 of the Radio H.F. Internet Newsletter. Previous issues of this newsletter can be found at www.anarc.org/cidx/radiohf/ [right here! — Ed.].

Hello, everyone. Please accept my apologies for not getting this edition of the Newsletter out earlier. It has been quite a month since we were last together. I am in the process of switching jobs. For the past year, I have been doing some accounting work, on a part-time basis, for a notarial office here in Montreal. I have just wrapped up that project and am beginning a new assignment with a chemical firm next week. I have been putting in some very long hours training my replacement and getting things organized for the new job. As a result, most of my leisure activities have been put on hold for several weeks, including the production of this Newsletter.

This month's edition is somewhat shorter than usual, but still contains a lot of interesting material. Things should be back to normal next month. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Let's try to get the contribution rate up for the next issue as well. Our Contributors' list was considerably smaller this month.

The April Survey results

Last month's survey question asked whether or not you use the Internet to listen to radio. Not nearly as big a response as last month on this question. Only 15 people took the time to answer. Here are the results:

11 people indicated that they listen to regular radio stations or on-line stations on the Internet
4 people indicated that they do not use the Internet for radio listening.

Only a few indicated their favourite stations on the Net. News and specialty music programming led the pack in interests.

The May Survey

Let's see if we can get a better turn-out with responses to this month's question. Our question this month is amateur radio related. This subject is one of the most hotly contested issues facing the amateur radio community throughout the world, so let's see what our H.F. Newsletters' think. Please, no long, drawn out reasoning behind your choice on this one. I just want a simple "Yes" or "No" answer. This should be fun. Let the sparks fly!

Should Morse code (at any level) be maintained as a requirement to acquire an amateur radio license for the H. F. amateur radio bands?

Here's a special search engine designed specifically for all you math and science geeks out there. I suppose nerds can look, too — but be forewarned: this is a "No Dweeb" zone. You can look for just about anything you want (related to the appropriate field). The results should be both relevant and up-to-date. But, before those of you who hate math and science tune me out, let it be known that even mortals can find some interesting stuff through phibot. Go on, give it a go.
