Disclaimer: The content and comments included in the websites featured in this newsletter are those of the individuals, groups or organizations responsible for each website. They do not necessarily represent those of the editor, unless specifically noted.

All subscribers' e-mail addresses are kept private and confidential. To add or remove yourself from the distribution list of this newsletter, simply contact Sheldon by e-mail at hfnewsletter@yahoo.com.

Happy St. Valentine Day -- Bonne St-Valentin!

Welcome to Vol. 3 Number 02 of the Radio H.F.
Internet Newsletter. Previous issues of this newsletter can be found at www.anarc.org/cidx/radiohf/index.html [right here! -- Ed.].

A special welcome to all of our new subscribers. It really is amazing the reach that this newsletter has achieved. You will see from the contributor and comments lists that this truly is an international publication.

I thank everyone for the continued support and for taking the time to tell friends about the Newsletter. As usual, I welcome everyone to send along a web site or two which you think your fellow subscribers would enjoy. It's easy to do. Simply send the URL, together with a brief description of the site, and it will be considered for publication in an upcoming edition. The e-mail address for all contributions and comments is hfnewsletter@yahoo.com. Remember that contributors are entitled to a 2% discount on their next purchases from Radio H.F.

Winter continues to hold on here in the northeast [of North America] with lots of snow, mixed with rain and freezing rain. It looks like it will be a little longer yet before Spring arrives here. Of course, for you in the southern hemisphere, the opposite may be true.

I have two new features to add to the Newsletter this month. One will be The Question of the Month. I will include a general question which I would like you to respond to by e-mail. I will compile the answers each month and post the results in the following edition.

The second feature will be The Web Site of the Month. At the same time you answer the question, I would like you to vote for your favourite site from the current month's Newsletter. Of course, it is up to you to determine what makes a site worthy of the Web Site of the Month. Perhaps it is the most useful, the most unique, the most interesting, or perhaps the most ridiculous! For whatever reason, tell us which site you feel is worthy of the title of Website of the Month.

The amateur radio hamfest/fleamarket season is now in full swing. Be sure to check the listing of upcoming events in the Publicity Zone. I apologize, but I am only able to include events in Canada. The majority of subscribers are in Canada, and if I tried to cover other areas of the world, the Newsletter would be twice as long as it already is. On occasion I will include information on major events taking place outside of Canada that are of interest to Canadians.

So, on to this month's collection of web sites. Given the major earthquakes that took place during the month of January, in India and El Salvador, and the severe winter storms causing problems in the U.S. and Canada, I have included a selection of sites on natural disasters, as well as some on search and rescue and relief organizations.
