Introduction

Disclaimer: The content and comments included in the websites featured in this newsletter are those of the individuals, groups or organizations responsible for each website. They are not those of the editor or contributors of this newsletter, unless otherwise stated.

Welcome to our third issue of this on-line publication. The feedback continues to pour in from across Canada and around the world. I'm still doing some fine tuning based on many of the comments received. There are a few minor changes this month.

This month I have added a special Zone, the Crisis Zone. This will feature current information, both of a radio and Internet nature, covering events in the former Yugoslavia.

I have also changed the name of the Fun Zone to the Fun and Services Zone. In addition to the entertaining and amusing sites, I will be adding sites which offer software, search engines, free downloads, etc.; sites to assist you with your computer and the Internet.

In the first edition of the Newsletter I said that I would be offering some sort of incentive program to encourage people to contribute material to this newletter. This program is now in place. Here is how it works: If you submit material which is used in an edition of the Newsletter, you will receive a 2% discount on your next purchase from Radio H.F., either in store or via mail order. Contact Radio H.F. for complete details on this offer. This will apply on each edition of the Newsletter, effective this issue.

Now, on to this month's material. Thank you to all who took the time to forward their contributions.

Barrie Smith, Fredericton, New Brunswick: "What a great service this newsletter. Makes absolute sense combining Internet with the shortwave hobby. As a matter of fact I'm just setting up my shortwave radio beside my computer ... excellent timing."

Gayle Van Horn, Brasstown, North Carolina: "Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the first Radio H.F. Newsletter. Keep up the great work."

Devon Racicot, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan: "First off I would like to say hats off to you for the work that you are putting towards your newsletter. It is nice to see such dedication to the hobby. I am starting a newsletter for our local ARES group here and I wonder if I might reprint articles that appear in your newsletter from time to time. I wonder if I might make the newsletter available on our local club web page for downloading or viewing. 73 and keep it up."
