Introduction

Welcome to the second issue of this on-line publication. I would like to thank everyone for the unbelievable feedback which I received on the first edition. Over 70 of you sent in comments or suggestions. Your input was most helpful; so much so that some of the suggestions made are implemented in this edition. In addition, the Newsletter has been added as a link on several of the sites featured in the first issue.

One suggestion made was to make previous editions of the Newsletter available at a website. This is being done this week. The website is http://www.anarc.org/cidx/radiohf/index.html.

I am adding two new zones. The Comments Zone will feature some of your comments, suggestions and criticisms. The Contributors Zone will list those supplying input to the current edition.

An Important Tip: When checking out the web sites featured in the Newsletter, remember to check out the "Links" sections on each site. They will include many more sites related to the topic.

Lots of material to cover this time, so let's get down to it. My thanks to all of those who contributed to this issue. Please keep the input coming.

CIDX, Canada's national radio monitoring club continues to expand. We have just added a new column editor, Mr. Daniel Sampson, who will be editing a listing of shortwave broadcasts to North America in English. Also many new items and features have been added to the club's website (www.anarc.org/cidx/). Please visit and consider ordering a sample copy of our monthly club bulletin, the Messenger.

I am pleased to announce that my weekly radio programme, The International Radio Report, on CKUT-FM Radio McGill, 90.3 FM in Montreal, is now available on the Internet via RealAudio. The show, hosted by myself and Bill Westenhaver, airs Sunday morning at 10:30 Eastern (14:30 UTC), and features news and information from the local, national and international radio scene. The RealAudio is fed in real time only at this point, so tune in on Sunday. Go to the CKUT Radio McGill webpage (www.ckut.ca) and scroll down to the RealAudio icon. The rest of the site is currently under construction.
